This fine aquatint was drawn by Joseph Farington. R. A and here engraved by Joseph Constantine Stadler. Generally very good condition, some age tone, with beautiful original hand colouring. Very rare.
First published on folio sheet: 16½ x 12¼ (420mm x 310mm)
Boarder trimmed to approx 15.5" X 11.5" and previously mounted with residue mounting tape to edges verso.
One of the grandest and most important books on the Thames. "although not the first coloured
aquatint book, [it] was the first major one, and it was to set an example for the type of illustration
