Columbian Co Type V Model 1895 Air Rifle, owned by Dr. Robert D. Beeman (of Beeman Air-guns). .180 Large BB's, smoothbore, with a Winchester style cocking lever. Nickel plated barrel shrouds and a heavy cast iron frame and butt-plate. Frame shows sitting squirrel embossed above trigger, with date on left side of cast iron forearm. The lever cocks and fires, but has not been tested with a .180 BB projectile. The barrel is stamped, PAT'D OCT. 24.93. The end piece by barrel breech slides so you can load the gravity fed 1000 shot in the slot of barrel. 35.5" OAL Mfg. 1893-1895, 4.2 lbs.
PROVENANCE: From the personal private collection of Dr. Robert D. Beeman (of Beeman Airguns) and has a brass tag on trigger stating this along with it numbered, #1379. This also has a lead signet lock with his initials, "RDB" on the cable. A rare, seldom seen item belonging to a top leader in the Industry.
Columbian Airguns began in 1892 and were made by E.E. Bailey Mfg Co in Philadelphia PA.
