By far our most economical substrate solution, Coco Coir makes for an awesome bulk substrate or casing material for dung-loving mushrooms that provides a fluffy aerated matrix with a huge reserve of hydration to provide fast colonization and support huge flushes with extremely low risk of contamination.
Bags contain a little over 3.5 pounds of substrate and will fluff up to between 1 - 1.5 gallons after spawning. Don't let the weight fool you, coco coir is surprisingly voluminous!
Bags are sealed, steam pasteurized, and ready for use upon arrival! Bags are NOT inoculated, and buyer will need to provide their own spawn / culture. This material is intended for inoculation with colonized spawn and should not be expected to produce growth via direct inoculation any type of liquid or agar inoculant.
Bags are guaranteed to be clean and will be checked for defects before shipping.
If you do not plan to use the bags right away, it is advised that you store them under refrigeration.
