A Civil War era trepanning set in a nice dark wood box. The trephines and Hey's saw are marked Tiemann. The horn trephine handle is a bright shade in excellent condition which adds to the display. The elevator and trepanning scalpel are not original to the set and not in as pristine a shape. The elevator is unmarked but fits beautifully. The scalpel is marked but obscure and does not fit perfectly on close inspection. The biggest drawback to the box is the divider panel is missing that helps hold the instruments in the top when closed. Otherwise not something you will come by frequently and in nice shape considering.
