This is an early Bausch and Lomb Ophthalmoscope Case (without the Ophthalmoscope). This instrument was sold by "Street Linder and Propert" in Philadelphia (this company is featured on the nameplate on the top of the case) an early optical distributer selling equipment to eye care professionals. The outside of the box is in good condition with some minor signs of wear and the box is well made and solid. The inside of the case however has had the original molded support system for the ophthalmoscope removed so that a new more current piece of diagnostic equipment could be stored in its place. Please see pictures for details and condition. We only ship to addresses in the US.
This is a fine piece for those collectors documenting the early ophthalmic or optical community since most if not all ophthalmic surgeons carried their surgical loupes in these cases before the introduction of the Zeiss surgical microscope.
