The K-type sensor is at the tip of a 8 ft (2.5 meter) long wire probe, which has a high temperature ceramic mineral fiber insulation. It has a miniature type connector that will work with digital K-type thermometers (see my ebay store for a good selection). This probe can used to measure air or gas temperatures, it can be attached to pipes or embedded into objects you want to measure. It is frequently used in high temperature oven, kiln, furnace and flame applications. Blacksmiths use it in the forge or metal annealing ovens. Look up all other Thermocouples.
