WHY IS A DOUBLE-PUNCHED CAM IMPORTANT?꞉  Many individuals purchase a cam lock without thinking about how to how the lock's (mounting) orientation affects the final position of the cam.  The majority of cam locks can be installed either right-side up or upside down; however, the important question is, after installing the lock, in what position is the cam in when the lock is locked?

If a double-punched isn't utilized (allowing universal installation) you've got a 50/50 chance of having the cam end up in the wrong position.   Nobody wants to buy a cam lock only to discover that when the key is removed, the cam is in the wrong position.  By employing a double-punched cam, the cam can be in the 12 o'clock, 3 o'clock, 6 o'clock or 9 o'clock position when the lock is locked.

SO, WHY IS A REPOSITIONABLE STOP CAM IMPORTANT?꞉  In some applications, the cam must rotate a certain direction to unlock.  If you can't change the direction the key turns, then the lock can't be used.  Since this lock utilizes a repositionable cam stop, if you need to, you can control which way the key turns to open the lock!

PINNING꞉  Opposing sides.  This type of pin configuration makes this lock more difficult to pick / manipulate.  This lock is sure to be a favorite with LOCKSPORT enthusiasts due to it's difficult-to-manipulate pin configuration!

SPECIFICATIONS꞉  Two of this listing's photographs includes the lock's / cam's dimensions. The lock cylinder is the industry standard "Double-D" footprint (making mounting right-side up or upside-down possible).  The lock body, cylinder, keys, key ring, cylinder retaining nut, cam retaining nut, repositionable cam stop and double-punched cam weigh 2.7 ounces (76 grams).  

KEY REMOVES IN:  The key removes in one position - - the locked position.  The key is retained by the cylinder when the lock is in the "open position".  The key rotates 90º to open. The cam stop can be removed, turned-over and reattached if you need to cam to rotate 90º in the opposite direction.
