Ottoman Empire Mini Map
An original early 17th-century miniature map titled "Turcicum Imperium", depicting the vast extent of the Ottoman Empire across the Eastern Mediterranean, the Levant, Arabia, Persia, and parts of North Africa and Eastern Europe.
This finely engraved map was published as part of a Latin edition of a pocket atlas— Epitome Theatri Orbis Terrarum, originally derived from Abraham Ortelius' pioneering atlas and issued in Antwerp or Amsterdam circa 1598–1612.
Richly hand-colored at the time, the map includes major historical cities such as Constantinople, Jerusalem, Damascus, Cairo, Mecca, and Baghdad. On the verso appears a full page of Latin text headed "Palestina", indicating this was part of a bound volume. Plate number 103 at top right. A beautifully preserved example of early cartographic printing, showcasing fine detail, color, and classical typography. A rare and authentic historical artifact from the early age of atlas production.
