16.5” viola with a nice deep tone and responsive sound.
Originally purchased in 2010 from yitamusic (China) for $1000. Upon receipt I had a new bridge made, the fingerboard reshaped, the pegs shaped the fit better, and of course put new strings on. I also put new strings on about a year ago. Dominant CGD with a jeager A I believe. I think the C is silver. That’s usually what I do. I spent about $700 upgrading it and purchased a better case (in pics).
I purchased this viola after having taken a 10 year break after college at CCM. It was a great sound for the price. It wasn’t as good as the much more expensive viola I used in college but it had a good enough sound to satisfy me. A great sound for the price!
I had it verbally appraised and he said it was worth about $2400 in 2014.
I also engraved some personal artwork into it. So that’s why I’m selling it for $1000. But if you like the Art it’s a bonus! The art doesn’t affect the sound.
No bow included. Only the case.
