BEATLES SCRAPBOOKS WITH TICKET STUBS  1964 – 1968, Amazing chronological history of the Beatles told in newspaper and magazine clippings from February 1964.  The first volume is 1964, the second volume is 1965, and the third volume is 1966 with footnotes for 1967 ( From the book:  "Only two articles this year I stopped saving articles on r’r and the Beatles except for a few good magazine articles.  Year of Psychedelic Music, The Airplane, Fillmore, The Dead, Avalon, San Francisco Sound), and page noting that the Beatles were still making music in 1968.   Extremely strong content particularly regarding the Beatlemania around the US tours and San Francisco concerts in particular.  These books are full.  Over time, the owner’s taste drifts towards Bob Dylan with articles about him becoming interspersed.  The articles are all in chronological order.

Special items included in the scrapbooks include:

  2. Original flyer for a Closed Circuit concert presentation  of the first US concert in Washington, DC on March 14 and 15, 1964 at the Stanford Theater in Palo Alto.  The flyer is glued in on the corners but could potentially be removed.  Also included is an original theater stub for this show which also included The Beach Boys and Lesley Gore.   The show was videotaped and beamed to theaters over phone lines.  It was the first pay-per-view concert.  A similar flyer for a different theater sold for $1,100.

Really a special set of scrapbooks, lovingly assembled and with some treasures of Bay Area rock history laid in.  The covers are also great.  The best of this type of scrapbook that I've come across.
