The BackGuard was designed to protect the back of all polyester/polyurethane* gloss finished guitars and basses, either electric or acoustic, from belt buckles, buttons, zippers, rivets, and accidents.

There is nothing like it on the planet! It is an 18" x 13" sheet, less than 1/4" thick, that you can customize to fit almost any guitar. It weighs less than seven ounces on most guitars and sticks like magic with absolutely no adhesives. It can be removed and reattached as often as desired for string changes, etc.

The BackGuard will not adhere to matte, satin, or unfinished guitars.
*Unfortunately, nitrocellulose, PRS V12, Rickenbacker's Conservation Varnish, and other lacquer or varnish finished instruments don't work with the BackGuard as they can react with its materials. Check with your guitar's manufacturer if you are unsure of the finish used.

Other scratch protectors out there both a) don’t cover the entire back of the guitar and b) are too thin to protect against dings. The material on the BackGuard is thick, but not heavy or cumbersome. Being able to cut it to the size and shape of the guitar is also completely ideal. Shipping was fast and communication was great. Would highly recommend."

It definitely does not obtrusively stick to the surface of the guitar, you can tell immediately that it won’t leave any residue since it doesn’t use any adhesive or sticky substance to stay on.
