How to do leak test？

1. Fill 10ml-20ml baby oil to the detector for the first time. Open the engine cover, and hang the detector in the cover.

2. Disconnect the pipe that needs to be connected with detector.

3. Connect detector with DC12V battery, turn on the power switch, and the detector starts to work.

4. In about 30 seconds, the pipe will be filled with smoke. Check the leak points. Please use head lamp if necessary.

Q&A

Q: How do I buy tobacco liquid?
A: This device does not contain any liquid, you can use liquid paraffin and baby oil.

Q: How much liquid should I add?
A: You only need to add 10ml to this device, please do not add more than this or the liquid will overflow to the outside of the machine.

Q: Why doesn't the indicator light turn on after inserting the batteries?
A: Please check if your battery voltage is 12V, this appliance can only work under 12V voltage tage.

Q: Why does the smoke evacuation stop suddenly, what should I do?
A: This machine has overheating protection function, the machine will stop working automatically, please switch off the machine to let it cool down before restarting.

Q: Are there obvious oil drops on the pipe?
A: This is caused by adding more than 20ml of oil, please pour out all the oil in the device, let the machine run for 5 minutes, wait for smoke from the air outlet, at this time you can add 10ml of oil to make the machine work normally again.

Q: Why does the machine not smoke when the indicator light is on?
A: Dear customer, hello, firstly check whether there is more than 20ml of oil in the device you added, then check whether the power supply voltage meets the requirement of 12V.

Caution

1. When using this SDT203 Automotive Smoke Leak Detector for the first time, please fill it with 20ml of oil. Please take care not to exceed this range.

2. Test fluid: liquid paraffin and baby oil are fine.

3. Fresh oil should only be refilled when the smoke becomes thin, and not more than 10ml at a time.

4. Before refilling the fresh oil, please pour out the remaining oil in the detector and change the detector oil regularly.

5. During the leakage detection, please keep away from smoke-sensitive parts.

6. Do not run the detector continuously for more than 8 minutes. It needs intermittent rest.

7.The detector has an intelligent protector that automatically shuts off the power if the operating limit is exceeded, e.g., over 75°C. The detector is not designed to operate at this temperature. In this case, please operate it later.

8. If the test tube needs to be disconnected in the center, secure the other side with a rubber stopper.
