Artisan Room Box
Jerry Singleton
1:12th Scale
This wonderful room box was made by a very talented artisan,
Jerry Singleton, in 1982 as shown on the brass plaque on the side
It is very well made and has many possibilities
I used it as a kitchen, but could easily be a sitting room
The alcove on the back wall held a large stove, but would also be great filled with a fireplace
To the the right is a mock paneled door with a shelf one one side and a peg rack on the other, both of which I added
To the left is a window that is lit and currently has a garden view featuring a lovely topiary
The picture is easily replaced by removing the small access on the top of the box
There is a beamed ceiling and wood flooring
There is tube lighting at the top of the front of the box which gives enough lighting for the entire box
I added wire tape lighting to the existing wiring to light the alcove
Considering this was made in the early 1980's it is remarkably well done
The finish work is beautiful and I'm assuming he made everything himself
It has a glass frame door that has a gold finish...flash and room are reflected on the glass
The exterior is painted flat black
The bottom is covered in black felt
The box is very sturdy
I purchased this room box at an antique mall a few years ago
Sadly, I have not be able to find any information about the artisan
This room box cannot be combined with any other items
It requires special packing and I wouldn't want anything included that might damage it
It is available for pick up in Williamsburg, VA or it can be shipped
Payment must be received within 2 days after auction ends
Non smoking environment
I pack very well and as some items require more packing material that will contribute to the weight of the box
