PRODUCT DESCRIPTION
Arc Union presents TIG welding tungsten electrode rods, measuring 1/4" x 7" and featuring 2% thoriated tungsten, offering the benefits of expensive electrodes at a fraction of the cost. These red electrodes meet AWS classification EWTh-2, ensuring exceptional performance in striking an arc with lower amperages. Made from tungsten or a tungsten alloy, known for having the highest melting temperature among pure metals, these rods perform reliably even in high-current DC operations. The tungsten is doped with thorium oxide, resulting in a significantly lower electron work function compared to pure tungsten, and ensuring a well-constructed arc cone that works flawlessly. Ideal for welding carbon steel, stainless steel, nickel alloys, titanium alloys, copper alloys, magnesium alloys, aluminum alloys, and low-alloyed steels, these rods are designed for consistent performance, with a low burn-off rate and exceptional arc-striking capability. Comparable to the WT20 material variant, these 2% thoriated tungsten rods meet the American Welding Society standard EWTh-2 AWS A5.12, making them a versatile and reliable choice for various welding applications.
