Antique Wooden Foundry Molds - Pair

$22.0
Here is a bit of industrial history from Columbus, Ohio. This is a pair of wooden foundry molds that came from Kaiser Machine Works in Columbus. The company made wheel bearings and other components for various other industries. It was open from 1902 until 1997. The larger piece is a mold for a valve body half and the smaller is a mold for a t-nut. These were likely used in the foundry to produce components for the foundry itself. The mold represents the negative space of the desired part from which a sand cast is made and molten metal poured in. They show paint loss and roughness consistent with their age and use. A great pair for historians and collectors of early industrial items and processes.
