Given to family by the Hunter Family (Chief Sitting Eagle), 1950's or earlier
Made by Gertrude (Gert) Hunter, Wife of Nat Hunter who was the son of "Old John" Hunter, Chief Sitting Eagle.
Natural smoke-cured sueded white doeskin hide
Four beaded figures
1. Appaloosa horse
2. Tipi
3. Girl with braids (quite possibly Gert herself)
4. Spruce Tree
Separate border with ric-rac design along the top of the band
Exceptionally rare item, one of a kind
Main body measures 10" high, but with 2" fringe, overall height is 12"
51" all the way around
I used a rectangular box placed inside the band just to give you a general idea
Box measures 15 1/2" long x 10 1/4" wide x 12" high
12" deep inside
Has drawstring along the top
One area shows stain, by girl figure
