Antique Vintage Clacker Castanets Sorrento Colorful Inlay Inlaid Dancers. Each measures about 2 1/8" wide. The peasant gypsy dancing couple is genuine hand made inlay. This is a very old souvenir of Sorrento Italy. This item was owned by Agnes Newhall Stillwell 1906-1957 & Richard W Stillwell 1899-1982 who was a well known professor at Princeton University, in fact several generations of the Stillwell family included many who lectured at Princeton. I recently acquired many fine items from the Stillwell family estate at Plymouth MA. Needs to be restrung, the wood is fine with a nice aged patina - see the detailed photos.
