Transform your space with this breathtaking antique Spanish Colonial-style triptych, a sacred piece of devotional art dating from the late 1800s to early 1900s.

This triple-panel altar icon is hand-carved from wood, richly detailed with gilded Baroque-style scrollwork, and features hand-painted religious scenes directly on wooden panels—not prints or transfers.

The central panel depicts St. Michael the Archangel, flanked by holy family and Marian imagery, all dressed in colonial robes with radiant halos—hallmarks of traditional Catholic iconography from Spanish-influenced regions.

Whether placed on a prayer altar, mantel, or sacred shelf, this piece brings a sense of reverence and timeless craftsmanship to your home.

Pristine. I have not observed any imperfections. It is possible there is light wear consistent with age, that I missed, but no structural damage or paint loss. Gilding remains vibrant. The paint is also vibrant.  Backing is solid and stable.

🕯️ Age Estimate

Your triptych likely dates to the late 19th to early 20th century (circa 1880–1920). Here’s why:

Carving & Gilding: The ornate, deeply carved style with stylized scrolls and gold leaf is consistent with Spanish Colonial or Spanish Revival religious work from the late 1800s onward.

Hand-Painted Panels on Wood: Earlier Spanish Colonial pieces were also painted on tin or canvas; yours being painted on wood supports a late 1800s–early 1900s date, especially with the retained polychrome and subject matter.

Condition & Backing: The construction and finish suggest it is not a modern reproduction, but a true antique devotional piece.
