A 2 3/4 inch tall rectangular-shaped amber-glass antique PHENOBARBITAL pharmaceutical bottle.   This bottle is completely EMPTY, it has  NO contents, NOT even a trace of the original contents.  But it does have the FULL ORIGINAL paper label on it.  NOTE TOO that even the cork has a small "S.E. MASSENGILL / BRISTOL TENN / VA." original paper label on it that is in just about PERFECT condition and is FULLY legible!  The COLORFUL red, black, and yellow label contrasts nicely with the HONEY-AMBER colored glass.  This is an ORIGINAL ANTIQUE Mold Blown bottle with a cork top, dating back to the early 1900s.

  • Labels reads in part:    " ... PHENOBARBITAL ... Antispasmodic Hypnotic, Sedative ... THE S. E. MASSENGILL Co. ... Bristol, Tenn. - Va."

  • Condition:   This EMPTY bottle is in GOOD SOLID condition, NO cracks, chips, dings, damage, etc.  It has interior dust, the label is in excellent condition, even the tiny label over the cork is FULLY  LEGIBLE!  PLEASE SEE pictures to get overall idea of the bottle and label's condition/appearance.

  • Age:  An ORIGINAL ANTIQUE mold-blown bottle (ABM) with a CORK-top, ca.  early 1900's.

What a nice example of an antique narcotic-laced pharmaceutical bottle.  The label plainly reads "PHENOBARBITAL" across the front of it in super CLEAR wording.  This is an ORIGINAL paper label.  Only so  many antique bottles with NARCOTIC ingredient have survived the elements of time with the ORIGINAL FULL label intact.  This could be a unique one-of-kind bottle with the full label, check it out!
