  • Full Name: Dr. Porter’s Healing Oil

  • Location: Various bottles are embossed with “Dr. Porter’s / Healing Oil / New York”

  • Use: Promoted as a general cure-all for cuts, burns, sprains, bruises, and other wounds.

  • Era: Mid to late 1800s

  • Type: External liniment (topical application)

These were common household remedies, often kept in medicine cabinets much like Vicks or camphor oils are today.
