Antique Game Board Painted Wood STAR Handmade Folk Art LARGE Heavy 24×23"

A Fantastic piece of Folk Art, describes this Antique, Handmade Gameboard. This Chinese Checker Board was constructed, in the 1920s/30s, from a solid piece of Oak. The sides of the Board have a thick wood, Gallery Edge; with a lovely Pressed Wood Design. This delightful Board has its Original Handpainted Star Design. Carved holes, for the marble gamepieces. The Board is very LARGE, and HEAVY. (Thus the higher shipping cost.) At one time, it had 4 legs, and stood on its on, as a Game Table. The wood itself, has beautiful graining. And the painted Red, White, Yellow and Blue Star, makes its own statement! The Folk Artist, who made the Board, was from this area of Charleston, S. Carolina. I have enjoyed decorating with it, for many years. Innumerable games of fun, were played on this Board. And would we not love to know, what important issues of the day, were discussed, by friends sitting around it. The Gameboard is quite eye-catching, in a country decorating scheme. It measures approximately 24"×23"×2". Exceptional condition. Clean, with no breaks or cracks. Very solid. Ready to enjoy.
