Antique Figural Silver Owls Knitting Needle Guards Continental * Circa 1890s These antique silver-plated knitting needle guards are in the form of owls with nice feathery details. They are connected by a pale blue elastic band, still pretty elastic. They are most likely from Germany as these figural guards were very popular there. They were used to put on the ends of double pointed knitting needles so the knitting wouldn't slide off. The condition is excellent with no dents or other damage and the silver is bright and unrubbed. Each guard measures 1 3/4" long.
