Antique Etching ( copper plate printing process ) on vellum paper. The etching is referred to as a chine colle or Japanese proof as the paper is laid down to the vellum paper. Condition is very good and clean. Overall size is approximately 5 6/16 inches 8.5 inches with image size being approximately 3.5 by 5 inches. Date is circa 1897. Original etching. Artist's and etcher's name is in lower right corner being one name, dark and hard to see but definitely present. . I do not know the source but only that the etching is from an incomplete antique book. I am certain of the date and printing process. Most 19th century prints are from books. Please note utmost left margin edge has a hair thin trim from removing from incomplete antique book.
