Antique Austria sterling silver black enamel beautiful minaudiere or vanity compact. The front of the compact has a very detailed incised oval plaque with the top and bottom having a zig zag pattern border. Each corner has gold details. The backside has the same gold corner details. The interior is marked "Sterling AK 935 number 2449 Austria". There is a black band which I believe held cigarettes. The flip side has a rectangular mirror which flips open exposing a celluloid writing surface. Right next to these compartments is another well which I believe would of held loose powder perhaps. Chain handle. Long black lush tassel with hidden lipstick holder still intact.
Measures 15 inches from the top of the chain to the bottom of the black tassel. The compact alone measures approximately 1 3/4 inches by 3 1/2 inches. Tassel measures 6 inches long.
In very good antique condition. No chips, no cracks and no repairs. Some residue of lipstick in the holder. Please view the photos for further details.
