Description: This auction is for a VERY rare and very well made antique violin that was made by the famous George Sommers here in Milwaukee, Wisconsin back in 1926. The inside of the violin as the original label and it says it has a D-Bar that was patented back in 1925. It also has a stamp that I believe says it was made in 1926. This amazing violing is in excellent condition but comes from a local estate where it has been left untouched for 60 years, so it needs some re-touching to the strings. The original owner was a famous Milwaukee area German violin player who played professionally. The set includes a hard case and two bows - one is marked Voirin Czechoslovakia. The other is marked A. Renz Dresden (that one is missing some mother of pearl). There is a label that reads Dunn's Select 7 Piece Orchestra which I believe was the name of one of his bands. The violin is a size 4/4 and the body is 14" long. The entire violin measures about 23.75" long. Amazing piece!
