ORIGINAL 1914 ROGER SOUBIE (1898-1984) 'SERVICES D'AUTO-CARS DE LA CIE DU MIDI - ROUOTE DES PYRENEES' TRAVEL POSTER
This is a wonderful original. I have seen this poster one other time and it was at a high end poster shop and they were asking nearly $2000 for it. It is such a wonderful image of the Pyrenees and has an early car within the landscape that it is really appealing. First, the poster is not in A+ condition. Poster measures 27 1/4 x 40 inches. Poster is partially laid down in some spots but also free enough that it wouldnt be that difficult to have removed. The colors and imagery are still in outstanding condition. There is one tear and small loss upper right corner of the mountains. It is in the lighter color of the mountains and cold most certainly be easily filled by a restorer. There are a couple of small tears in the letters within the bottom title area. A few other creases, marks and small areas of discoloration but really nothing too bad. It still displays wonderfully as it is. Simple red frame with no glass makes for an excellent display. Really ready to hang as it is or a good enough poster to that with some restoration, could be a very high quality example of this beautiful scene. Frame measures 41 x 28 1/2 inches.
