Terms and Conditions – Amazon Frogbit (Limnobium laevigatum)

Shipping & Handling Policy

• Domestic Shipping Only: We ship live Amazon Frogbit plants within the United States only, in compliance with eBay’s plants policy. No international shipping is available. We also do not ship to U.S. states where this plant is prohibited (for example, we cannot ship to California or Illinois due to state regulations).

• Year-Round Shipping: We ship year-round via USPS (typically First Class Mail) with tracking. Orders are usually dispatched within 1–3 business days of payment. We take care to pack plants securely (wrapped in damp material or bagged) to ensure they arrive healthy.

• Transit Time & Delays: Typical transit time is 2–5 business days via USPS. Please be aware that postal delays are beyond our control. Once shipped, we are not responsible for carrier delays or mishandling that extend delivery time. We recommend tracking your package and retrieving it promptly upon delivery to prevent exposure to harsh temperatures. If you have any delivery concerns, contact us and we will assist as much as possible.

Live Arrival Guarantee

• Live Delivery Promise: We guarantee that your Amazon Frogbit will arrive alive and in good condition. If the plant is dead on arrival (DOA) or significantly damaged, please notify us within 24 hours of delivery with a clear photo of the plant in its original packaging. This evidence is required to honor a refund or replacement under our Live Arrival Guarantee.

• Resolution for DOA: In the rare event of DOA, we will offer either a free replacement (if stock is available) or a full refund of the plant’s purchase price, per your preference. (Shipping costs are typically non-refundable.) We may request additional photos of the plant to help resolve any issues.

• Conditions of Guarantee: Our Live Arrival Guarantee applies only if the package is delivered within the usual time-frame and not subjected to extreme weather (see Weather Disclaimer below). If the delivery was significantly delayed due to carrier issues or if the package was left unattended outdoors for an extended period, the guarantee may be void. We cannot guarantee live arrival for plants that are not promptly retrieved upon delivery or for which no timely communication and proof of DOA is provided.

Snail & Pest Disclosure

• Possible Hitchhikers: Our Amazon Frogbit plants are organically grown in aquatic conditions. While we take steps to keep our plants clean, we cannot guarantee they will be 100% free of snails, snail eggs, algae, or other tiny aquatic hitchhikers. It is common and inevitable that live aquatic plants may carry microscopic pests or algae, despite thorough rinsing.

• Preventive Measures: We inspect each plant before shipping and remove any visible snails or pests, but snail eggs and algae can be hard to detect. We recommend that buyers quarantine new aquatic plants before adding them to their tank. This optional step can eliminate unwanted pests without harming the plant. By purchasing, the buyer acknowledges that some natural “hitchhikers” may be present and this is not a cause for return or refund.

Return & Refund Policy

• No Returns on Live Plants: Due to the perishable nature of live aquarium plants, we do not accept returns once the plant has been delivered. Introducing a plant to a new environment poses risks that prevent us from reselling it. Please be sure you want the item before purchase.

• Problem Resolution: If you encounter any issues with your order (such as DOA or a wrong item received), please contact us within 24–48 hours of delivery. We are committed to working with you to resolve problems promptly and fairly – this may include a replacement shipment or refund when appropriate. Customer satisfaction is our priority, and we adhere to eBay’s Money Back Guarantee standards for item quality and description.

• After Arrival: Once a plant arrives alive and healthy, its ongoing care is the buyer’s responsibility. We cannot offer refunds or replacements for plants that were delivered healthy but later fail due to aquarium conditions, improper care, or other factors outside our control. Ensure you research and provide appropriate water, lighting, and nutrients for Amazon Frogbit to thrive.

Buyer Responsibility & Legal Compliance

• Address Accuracy: Buyers must provide a correct and secure shipping address at checkout. We are not responsible for packages misdelivered or returned due to incorrect addresses. If you realize an address error after purchase, contact us immediately to attempt an update before shipping.

• Local Laws & Regulations: It is the buyer’s responsibility to ensure that Limnobium laevigatum (Amazon Frogbit) is permitted in their state or locality. Be aware that Amazon Frogbit is considered invasive in some areas – for instance, California and Illinois have restrictions that prohibit this plant. We will not ship to states where the plant is illegal. We rely on the buyer to verify compliance with any local invasive species laws or agricultural import rules. We only ship plants that are legal to sell and ship within the U.S., and we reserve the right to cancel orders if we learn of any legal prohibitions. By purchasing, you warrant that importing this plant to your area is lawful.

• Package Acceptance: Please plan to promptly retrieve the package upon delivery. It is the buyer’s responsibility to ensure the package is not left exposed to the elements (sun, freezing temperatures, etc.) for long periods. Consider having the package delivered to a work address or held for pickup at your local post office if you won’t be home. This helps protect the plant and supports our live arrival guarantee.

Weather-Related Disclaimer

• No Heat or Cold Packs: We do not include heat packs or cold packs in shipments. The plant will be shipped in ambient conditions. If your local daytime temperatures are extreme (below ~50°F or above ~90°F), please be aware that this can stress or kill the plant in transit. We highly recommend ordering live plants only when weather in your area is moderate.

• Live Arrival & Temperature: Our Live Arrival Guarantee is applicable without any special packaging only for temperatures between approximately 50°F and 89°F. Shipping in colder or hotter conditions is at the buyer’s risk. If you choose to proceed with an order during extreme weather, understand that the live arrival guarantee may be void for weather-related damage. For example, plants that freeze or overheat during transit due to very cold or hot weather would not be covered.

• Weather Delays: In cases of severe weather events (e.g. blizzards, heat waves), we may offer to delay shipping until conditions improve. We will communicate with you if we feel a delay is in the plant’s best interest. Your patience is appreciated in such circumstances. We want the plant to reach you safely, even if it means adjusting the schedule.

• Buyer Assumption of Risk: By purchasing during extreme temperatures, the buyer assumes responsibility for any weather-related outcome. We will still do our best to insulate the package and mark it as “Perishable” or “Live Plants” to encourage careful handling, but we cannot control the temperature exposure during transit. The seller is not liable for plant damage due to frost, heat, or other weather conditions during shipping when no heat/cold pack is used.
