Step 1
Wash the wheel rims with degreasing cleaner.
And then use sandpaper to remove any imperfections or stuck-on grime.
Rinse wheels thoroughly with water and let it dry.
Step 2
Place notecards between rim and rubber.
Wear protective gear. Spray from the same distance around 8-12 inches away from the surface of the rim.
Spray evenly across the rim, use light, fast, overlapping passes to paint the surface. Do not aim the nozzle at just one spot.
Step 3
Overall, you'll need to spray 2-3 even coats. So if you feel that you sprayed unevenly, don't fret. Generally, wait around 5-10 minutes between each coat.
You can add a final clear coat. While this step is not necessary, it will help further protect your rims from chipping or corroding over the years. And it will give the rims an added shine.
