This carved Bwa tribal mask from Burkina Faso features a bold rectangular form with deep circular eyes and an open geometric mouth. The African mask is coated with a ritual red-and-white patina, applied in thick layers over the wood surface. The mask was traditionally worn in initiation or agricultural ceremonies to channel protective spirits. The exaggerated shapes and worn surface reflect years of ritual use. Returns
