Item Description:
This auction is for a vintage railroad lantern that was recently purchased from a local estate. The top side edge and the globe are both marked N&W RY (see pictures 2 & 3) which is for the Norfolk & Western Railroad which merged with Southern Railway in 1986 to form Norfolk Southern Railway.
The top of the lantern is marked Adlake Kero. The top does have a few dents. The very bottom of the burner is marked Adlake Kero 2-48 with USA and Canada numbers. The bottom is heavily dented (see pics 10,11,12). The wick looks well used and the highest I can get it is shown in the last picture and it only goes down to basically even with the lips of the burner. Besides the dents on the lantern, it shows finish wear from use with a few scratches. The globe does have a few scratches and a small scuffed area which can be seen in picture 13. Overall this is a very nice looking old Railroad lantern.
Please take a look at all of the pictures for condition.
