Working Principle

Diesel Particulate Filters (DPFs) are designed to trap and remove particulate matter (PM) and soot from diesel exhaust gases. The filter’s wall-flow structure forces the gas through porous walls, while particles are captured inside the channels.

During regeneration, the captured soot is burned off at high temperatures via oxidation reactions:(

C (soot) + O₂ → CO₂

This process reduces emissions, protects the turbocharger and EGR systems, and ensures compliance with environmental regulations
