    Symptoms of a Bad or Failing Heater Blower Motor Resistor

    • Blower motor stuck on one speed
    • Blower motor does not work on certain settings
    • No air from the vehicle’s vents

     

    Replacement Guidline

    1. Locate the Blower Motor Resistor,commonly found underneath the passenger side dash or in the engine compartment.
    2. Remove the components surrounding the blower motor resistor, including the pigtail connected to the AC and the blower motor cooling duct. 
    3. To unscrew the bolts that hold the blower motor resistor in place. Using a ratchet with a short extension, tighten the screw.
    4. Once the bolts are taken out, to remove the blower motor resistor.
    5. Cut the wires that connect to the component.
    6. Apply dielectric grease to the housing of the blower motor resistor before proceeding with the installation. 
    7. Replace the screws to secure them in place. Connect the pigtail when you are finished with the job. 
    8. Disconnect the old wires and reconnect the new ones,Return the pigtail to its original position.
