some people have trouble with the clearance of the lever and brake arm at full swing,
so you can either not kick it all the way past the brake arm or make appropriate changes-
but if you don't mind making slight modifications, (if your model is one that is affected, some models are not...),
then you can make any necessary modifications, and you will be satisfied.
Some people don't even own a screwdriver, let alone a tool kit,

Some people can't kick-start a 125cc bike either :-) - (let alone an XS11.)
If you are able to use the non-folding kickstarter that came with the bike,
-you should be able to do it.
i have sold over 80 units, -26 kickers this year alone, and installed 10 on my bikes and customer bikes,
and have had one person complain that he was not able to kick his bike to life, and one person's bike that had
a damaged the internal spring, so that the kicker would not retract, - so i have to make the disclaimer.
For this reason, I can't guarantee a "no modification" fitment, or promise that everyone will even be able to kickstart an 1100cc bike, that's all.
I'm just trying to be completely honest and up front regarding an aftermarket part.
Which is how i would want to be treated if i was considering the purchase of a non-stock part.
Most of the time, in the custom parts world, ...it doesn't happen that way,
We are then left with a part that doesn't fit as hoped, and modifications have to be made.
It is my policy to make you aware of what you are looking at
~ and It is always "buyer beware" (be AWARE) when getting custom parts.
But If i know that up front, i get a lot less frustrated :-)
- i am doing my best to keep my customer AWARE of what he is getting into.

thanks for buying my Yamaha Kick Start lever.
If the larger clamp bolt pre-installed on the unit is difficult to install,
Replace it with the extra (smaller) supplied 8mm bolt, It should go on easily.
