The angle of the cutting bevel may be too high, it might not gouge smoothly. If you want, please lower the handle by sharpening.
The metal hoop on the butt has been set up and the edge has also been sharpened. You can use it right after you receive. However, if you have a preference of the angle of the bevel, please re-sharpen it. The edge was finished with a 2000 grit stone.
