It’s not due to too much current. The diode handles 50A, but without a heatsink, it can’t cool properly. Overheating happens when there’s not enough heat dissipation.

Do I need a heatsink with this diode?
Yes. High current = high heat. A heatsink is required to prevent damage, even if you're within the rated 50A.

Where can I buy the heatsink?
We sell the heatsink separately in our store. You can also choose the bundle (diode + heatsink) listed right below the diode SKU.

What if I'm only using a small current—do I still need a heatsink?
If your current is over 6A, we strongly recommend using a heatsink. Even at lower currents, continuous use can cause heat buildup. It’s safer to install one.
