30 Lbs. USDA-Certified Organic Hard Red Winter Wheat Berries

Our family been raising hard red winter wheat on our farm in Southwest Nebraska since 1906, so we are pretty good at it by now. Since we bake bread with the wheat we grow (and our family devoured copious quantities of it) we have always used farming practices that do not include chemicals. Eventually, it made sense to us to go organic, so in 2020 and many, many pages of paperwork later plus an on-site inspection, we received our organic certification from OneCert®.

Our wheat is vacuum-packed and heat sealed in a food-grade mylar bag. We preserve the freshness of our wheat by flushing the oxygen from the bag with food-grade carbon dioxide. Carbon dioxide is found naturally in the atmosphere and is completely safe. We then place the sealed bag in a 5 gallon food-grade bucket sealed with a tamper-resistant lid. We have used this process for over 20 years and have never had bugs or any type of molds in our wheat.
