These XXL (approx. football size, see the quarter) river rocks are from an area of metamorphic and igneous geology in central Idaho. Translation: they're very colorful! The photos are of the actual stones you will receive. In the first photo the rocks are wet; the way they would look in an aquarium or water feature. In the second, they are dry, the way they would look right out of the box or in landscaping. Hand selected and hosed off - not treated in any way. I have added a few smaller rocks to fill in the gaps in the box. Check out my store for the other river stone lots I have listed, including flat, smooth rocks for rock painting.
By the way, the lot numbers (lot 1, 2, 3 etc.) do not indicate quality, just the order in which I gathered the rocks and a way to tell the boxes apart when filled. Approximately 30 pounds is the most of this size rock I can fit in a USPS medium flat rate box. Packed tightly with lots of reinforcing tape around the box.
