This exceptional writing instrument remains in New Old Stock, Mint, and Never Inked condition, complete with its original presentation box, literature, and warranty card.
This piece marks the first in Visconti’s limited edition series dedicated to the world’s major religions, with La Bibbia honoring the shared spiritual heritage of Christianity and Judaism. The pen is expertly hand-turned from a solid block of ivory-colored natural resin, with a cap and barrel of equal dimensions — a hallmark of Visconti’s seamless, elegant design.
Renowned Italian airbrush artist Claudio Mazzi brings the pen to life with vivid, hand-colored imagery that narrates the Bible's most profound stories. The barrel features pivotal scenes from the Old Testament: Adam and Eve, Noah’s Ark, Abraham and Isaac, David and Goliath, and Moses with the Ten Commandments. The cap continues the sacred journey with key moments from the New Testament: the Nativity, Baptism of Christ, the Last Supper, and the Ascension.
Symbolism is deeply woven into the pen’s design. The cap top and blind cap are each adorned with ten sculpted facets, representing the Ten Commandments, while the Hebrew engraving on the blind cap recalls the ancient stone tablets. Hidden within the blind cap lies a unique and meaningful detail: the “Holy Grail”, which serves not only as a symbolic feature but also as the activation mechanism for Visconti’s patented Power Filler plunger filling system — an inspired union of spiritual metaphor and technical innovation.
The pen’s vermeil trim (gold over sterling silver) is in flawless condition, complementing the rich ivory resin. The vermeil is hallmarked on all the vermeil trim parts with 925. It uses a threaded cap, which secures smoothly and tightly to the barrel. Measuring 6 1/4" capped, with a cap band diameter of 18.22mm, and weighing 2.63 ounces, this pen offers a substantial, yet comfortable presence. (Note: This pen is not designed to post.)
Fitted with a beautifully engraved two-tone 18K gold nib stamped “Visconti 18K/750 F,” the tipping measures .67mm with digital calipers — placing it within the Medium range despite the Fine designation. The nib remains untested with ink to preserve its pristine, unused condition for the next collector.
