LED Strips

Warning:  The installation of LED STRIPS is recommended to be installed by a licensed professional. The improper installation of LED STRIPS will void all warranties.  If installing as golf cart lighting, these LED STRIPS are designed to be powered by a 12 volt power source. If you are running a 36 or 48 volt system, a step down transformer is required.

It is recommended to install each LED STRIP using 3MTM Adhesion Promoter which allows for a much stronger bond between the adhesive tape of the LED STRIPS and the cleaned mounting surface of your vehicle. This is an optional installation accessory that is NOT included with your LED STRIPS.

PLEASE READ THE FOLLOWING INSTRUCTIONS THOROUGHLY BEFORE INSTALLING AND OPERATING YOUR  LED STRIPS.

LED Strip Includes:

LED Strip Installation:

1. Prior to installation, be sure to test the Strip by temporarily connecting the power wire to a 12 volt source and the black ground wire to an unpainted metal ground. Once the wires are secure, power the LED STRIPS on to ensure it is fully functional before moving forward with the installation. Removing LED strip may result in damage; this will immediately void the warranty.

 2. Lay out the LED STRIPS the way they will be installed on the vehicle. Be sure that the power and ground wires when routed to the power source, will not be pinched, cut or exposed to any direct heat source or moving parts. If any physical damage occurs to the LED STRIPS, it will immediately void the warranty.

 3. Optional: It may be necessary to remove the parts of your vehicle. Please consult your owner’s manual before removing and reinstalling any of your vehicle’s components.

 4. Once the LED STRIPS and wires are mocked up, clean the mounting surface on the vehicle with an alcohol prep pad. The mounting surface should be between 45 and 85 degrees Fahrenheit to achieve the strongest bonding results from the double sided tape. Note: The surface area must be free of all oils, moisture, dirt and wax in order for the supplied adhesive tape to bond and adhere to the installation surface correctly.

 5. When mounting LED STRIPS, extra care is need when applying LED strips to vehicle. DO NOT rub LED STRIPS with fingers or cloth to fix to surface, as this may result in damage to the silicone gel on the led strip and will immediately void the warranty. When applying LED STRIPS to surface, use a light pressing motion to carefully mount LED STRIPS in place.

 6. Optional: Each LED STRIP can be cut (NOT INCLUDING SEQUENTIAL (RUNNING) LED STRIPS) to your desired size  for the mounting location. Every LED STRIPS has a copper tab that indicates where the strip can be cut. It must not be cut in any other place, as this will stop the LED STRIPS from working correctly. After cleaning the mounting surface with an alcohol prep pad, you can apply 3M Adhesion Promoter that allows for a much stronger adhesion between the 3M tape and mounting surface.

 7. Double check that the mounting surface is clean and dry. Mount each LED STRIP by using the supplied double sided adhesive tape. Once this step is complete, and the LED STRIPS are secure, allow ample time for the adhesive to settle and cure.

 8. Route and connect the power wire to the power source, and route the black ground wire to an unpainted metal ground (-) location. If the wires need to be extended, use only 20 or 22 gauge automotive grade wire for all power wires. Connect and secure the power wires only after everything is properly mounted and installed. Secure any excess wire with zip ties, so they do not get caught on any moving parts or come in contact with any direct heat sources.

9. Re-install any of your vehicle's assembly, if it was removed in Step 3.
