This listing is for a rare pair of two (2) 1972 Fender dealer display necks. There is one Stratocaster and one Telecaster. Both 1 piece maple. These necks were offered to dealers in 1972 to show customers how Fender necks were constructed and show the difference between the two different truss rod styles. While the Strat neck is dated 1972, the Tele has no date and may be older as it appears to be fully finished in nitrocellulose. Both are pre 2 string tree necks (2 string trees begin in early 1972).
The Tele neck has had the headstock broken off and glued back on. An inlay in the strat has been glued back on. The Tele has had its ferrules for the tuners removed long ago and shows damage to the finish. These necks are sliced in half, will never be anything but display pieces. Only high volume dealers received them, and few Strat necks were made (most bullet styles were Telecaster Deluxes or Thinlines). A very cool set you wont come across anytime too soon. I doubt more than a half dozen pairs remain.
Sold as is.
