This is an original FORD product. This shaker assembly was taken off of a 1970 or 1971 Torino Cobra many years ago. As you know they are getting awfully hard to find. While this is absolutely a wonderful piece for any Torino, it is far from perfect. We acquired it at a parts liquidation auction of Torino and other Ford parts. The seller claimed this came from a 1971 429 powered Torino Cobra. I cannot say that with certainty so please look at the photos and make sure this item meets your needs. THE GOOD - This is absolutely an original Ford part and nothing about it is reproduction. The scoop, scoop extension and mid plate are all perfectly serviceable parts that just need a cosmetic restoration. Even the vacuum diaphragm on the mid plate seems to be functional. The rubber seal is largely intact and would be fine for a driver quality car. There is practically zero rust on this assembly other than a little surface rust that you can see in the photos.
THE BAD - Someone has really worked over the carburetor mounting flange on the base. PLEASE LOOK CLOSELY AT THE PHOTOS. THE DAMAGE TO THIS FLANGE IS CERTAINLY REPAIRABLE AND WILL NOT BE SEEN WHEN INSTALLED ON YOUR HOT ROD. IT WILL REQUIRE SOME PATIENCE AND A SKILLED HAND TO BRING IT BACK TO SHOW QUALITY. The air filter lid is NOT present although they are readily available in the reproduction market.
