1958-69 D409 GM DISTRIBUTOR ROTOR-ALL V8; DELCO REPRODUCTION

UP FOR SALE IS A NEW DISTRIBUTOR ROTOR MADE BY DELCO REPRODUCTIONS. ORIGINALLY USED ON ALL GM V8 ENGINES FROM 1958-69. THESE ROTORS ARE MADE OF A BLACK PHENOLIC / PLASTIC LIKE MATERIAL.
This is the ONLY Rotor on the market today that has the CORRECT EXTENDED COPPER TIP
that closes the gap left between the rotor tip and the distributor cap,
by all other rotors! From 58-69, the length of the tip was the same.
However, in late 69, with the advent of SMOG regulations, GM (and most
other manufacturers) in an effort to reduce smog emission, did what they
could to meet new Fed regulations. GM reduced the length of the tip of
the rotor (about .0028") and
added a thin by-metal tab under the tip, point down, which they called a
"flash tab". I assume this design change helped emissions, but did the
opposite for performance. I have
purchased every other brand on the market today to compare to this
rotor-none measures up: they all are the length of the replacement "R"
cap GM rotor has been putting out since late 69.
