1951 vintage Hickok 534B dynamic mutual conductance tube tester. For parts or repair. I bought this about 20 years ago and it has been in storage. I recently purchased about 1,000 vacuum tubes so I figured I would dig this out and use it to test tubes before I sold them. First, I replaced the "suicide" cord that was pretty brittle. Then, I plugged it in. The red light came on and it varied in intensity when I adjusted the Line Adjust, but the meter did not move. I called my friend that I bought the tubes from and he came over to investigate the tester. We seem to be getting power when you adjust the filament , the short test works, but none of the buttons seem to do anything. We tested the capacitor and resistor portion on the top left, and the meter registered so the meter is working, just not getting anything on the tube test. The roll for the tube data works fine and is in good shape. Both of the tubes light up when you turn the power on. The inner compartment has been sealed and the wiring and components are very clean. Like I said, I have about 1,000 tubes to test and sell, so I cannot devote all of my time to troubleshooting this tube tester. I went ahead and bought another Hickok tester so that I can get started, so I am selling this to someone more competent than me to troubleshoot and repair. Clothing has size but items can be different. Please go by measurements. I tape measure as close as possible. Please email me if you need measurements. Please look at pictures.
