Columbus Erdglobus Modell 200 German Political Globe, circa 1930s
The globe is mounted on the rare original circa 1930s Atlas figural bronze stand with a marble base.
Overall the condition is good but there are a few things to report:
It appears that the shaft above the figure and below the globe was welded and painted long ago. It is unlikely this is original. Also where that shaft meets the figure's back looks welded/repaired.
The back edge of the marble base has some chips and one back corner is chipped. See photos.
The globe has a few small surface scuffs. The largest is in The Gulf of Mexico and the scuff has been touched up to blend in. There are a few other minor scuffs in the ocean above South America and near Hawaii.
The globe is glossy and is reflecting numerous lights in the photos, so please don't confuse reflections with scuffs.
Measures about 31" tall with an 8-1/2" x 7" base. The globe is 12" diameter. Atlas is 15" tall from the base to his hands. Weighs a little over 18 pounds.
