Dodge Brothers Service Tools, by Miller Tool & Manufacturing Co., Detroit, Mich., 1923. 8 ½ x 11 paperback in 3-hole folder, 24 pages.

Please note this is a photocopied reproduction, not an original.

This ORIGINAL catalog is in very good condition. The front cover is faded except for the top right quarter where some other paper or book was blocking the sunlight. The pages are clean, and the brass clasps are in place.

The next to last page is a “Price List of Dodge Brothers Special Service Tools, Effective May 1, 1923,” by which I date the catalog 1923, possibly 1922. About three dozen of the prices have been lined through by hand, and a different price written in.

At the start of the Ford Motor Company in 1903, John and Horace Dodge supplied nearly every car part not manufactured by the up-and-coming auto giant in its own plants. After over a decade of operating as an automotive parts supplier to Ford and other companies, the Dodge brothers introduced their own car in 1914. The production line tooling for the Dodge plant was made by Miller Tool & Manufacturing Co.

The Miller brothers emigrated to the United States from Germany in 1906 and began a small business making replacement bicycle parts. They developed an excellent reputation for making quality parts at a fair price.

In 1915 the Dodge Brothers recognized the fact that special tools were required to repair their vehicles. They selected Miller Tool & Manufacturing Co. as the best of their outside parts vendors to supply these special tools to Dodge dealers and their repair departments
