Fold-out map of Hamlet, North Carolina, prepared by J.S. Utter, Registered Engineer. Believed to date to the 1920s, the map shows street names, neighborhoods (Fairview, Pine Croft, East Hamlet, etc.), lakes (Boyd’s Lake, Big Lake, Hamlet City Lake), and rail lines prominent in Hamlet’s development as a rail hub. Index of street names and neighborhoods is included in the lower portion. Measures 40.5" x 34.5" when fully unfolded. A great piece of Southern and railroad-related ephemera.
Map is in good condition with fold lines, edge wear, and moderate toning from age. Back side shows some smudging and wear from storage. See pictures for further details on condition.
