Original U.S. land patent document, 10.5" x 16", dated February 25, 1904, granting 80 acres in Payne County, Oklahoma to Christopher Hanson. Issued under the authority of the 1820 Land Act and bearing a bold red General Land Office seal. Secretarially signed for President Theodore Roosevelt by F.M. McKean, with countersignature by Recorder Wm. A. Richards. The property is described as the west half of the southeast quarter of Section 14, Township 20 North, Range 1 East of the Indian Meridian. Recorded in Noble County in 1917.
A classic example of early Oklahoma land ownership and the federal land patenting process during Roosevelt's presidency.
