This is a very cool 1903 lithograph advertising for Pabst Blue Ribbon beer. Back when they actually put blue ribbons on their beer bottles. It is in its original frame that has a brass plaque that reads "Pabst Blue Ribbon." Inside the glass is a 1934 Christmas-gift dedication from one friend to another. It reads: "This old timer from Cripple Creek from an old time Cripple Creeker" To my friend Carl Casterline / (from) Carl H. Muehlhausen / Christmas 1934. This was a gift to Carl C. from Carl M. who were apparently good friends and drinking buddies back in Cripple Creek, Colorado in 1934. Cripple Creek was a gold mining boom town around the turn of the century, and these two may have been gold miners. I could find nothing about Carl C. but in 1917 Wyoming, Carl Muehlhausen was arraigned on charges of conspiracy to defraud the government through the illegal sale of gold processed from high-grade gold ore stolen from Cripple Creek. Hmmm. Was there a conspiracy of Carls in Cripple Creek, Colorado? This could be the great conversation piece for your man cave, bar, or simply a jewel in your Colorado or breweriana collection. Please see photos for condition. It is as I bought it except I had to tape up two rips on the backing paper. Print is 18 X 14.5 inches. Sorry about the reflections in the glass in my photos.
