Bound in brown cloth boards with titles present to the spine and front board. Boards have  shelf-wear present to the extremities (boards are rubbed and worn, sunning present to the spine, chipping present to the crown of the spine). No ownership marks present.  Text is clean and free of marks. Binding tight and solid.

The book has a historical sketch of the Association, a list of members and other matters relating to the Association. Illustrated with portraits of the officers of the Association and others. A few pages of medical related advertising at the front and rear of the book.

The National Association of Railway Surgeons was a professional organization for physicians working for railroads in the United States. It emerged in the late 19th century as the number of railroad doctors increased, and it aimed to professionalize the specialty and address the unique needs of railway medical care. The association published a medical journal, The Railway Surgeon, and held annual meetings to discuss relevant topics.
