This listing is for an 1890 Jewish Ex Libris Bookplate from the Temple Beth Israel Sabbath School Library in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Temple Beth Israel was founded by Polish German Jews in 1840.

This was presented by Mr & Mrs. Isaac Saller in 1890 who lived at 2115 Spring Garden St., which is located in Philadelphia, PA. There are 2 names written in cursive on this bookplate but I cannot decipher their full names. Although there are other Beth Israel synagogues in the United States, Philadelphia is the only city that has a Beth Israel and a 2115 Spring Garden St. The Sallers are also listed in the 1890 Boyd's Blue Book for Philadelphia

This bookplate measures 3 1/2" x 4 1/2" and is in very good condition.
